COVID-19 Protocols

All attendees at SEJ and SEJ-sponsored in-person events must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or, if they are unable to be vaccinated for medical or religious reasons, produce a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of the event. Masks will be mandatory, unless outdoors or while actively eating/drinking. Panelists can choose to remove their masks while actively speaking.

These requirements are subject to change based on public health requirements at the time and place of event. This policy will comply with all applicable laws and is based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and local health authorities, as applicable.

For purposes of SEJ in-person events, an individual is fully vaccinated, as described currently by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) or the World Health Organization (WHO):

  1. Two weeks after their second dose in a two-dose series vaccine produced by Pfizer, Moderna or Oxford/AstraZeneca;
  2. Two weeks after a single dose vaccine produced by Johnson & Johnson; or
  3. Two weeks after completion of all doses recommended for full immunity of vaccines that have received Emergency Use Authorization by the WHO. See a complete list of these vaccines.

For vaccinations obtained outside the United States: Interchanging the COVID-19 vaccinations listed above is acceptable for establishing status.

We strongly encourage attendees to be up to date, according to CDC guidelines and your doctor’s advice.

COVID-19 Guidelines for #SEJ2022

SEJ requires that each attendee provide valid proof of vaccination BEFORE on-site check-in. Those details will be emailed to you in advance of the conference.

SEJ is not and will not be responsible for any expenses, damages or losses resulting from the enforcement of these COVID-19 protocols. At this time, SEJ has no plans for rapid testing on site.

SEJ will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and reserves the right to amend our COVID-19 Protocols in any way and at any time and will announce more details as they develop.

Any attendee who fails to abide by SEJ’s COVID-19 protocols will not have their fee refunded.

If you receive a positive COVID-19 test within 10 days of the conference, you should not attend #SEJ2022 and a full refund will be provided. Please contact us at sej@sej.org.
